Hi,
I'm working in IT Support for a company with a Graphic Arts department.
We changed a user MAC for a PC because the user is a new employee with no background with a MAC. All others users in this department are working with MACs.
This user reported to me that is having problem when opening an Excel File created on a MAC with the "Format". All the columns, rows, fonts, and either the printing are not normal. All the formats are screwed up.
I updated the Office 2003 on the PC and the Office 2004 on the MACs. I had the file recreated on the MAC, but the problem is still there!
PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome on macosx;com
You say
>>This user reported to me that is having problem when opening an Excel File created on a MAC with the "Format". All the columns, rows, fonts, and either the printing are not normal. All the formats are screwed up.<<<
What is the "Format" you speak about ? The "Format" selector list you can choose when doing a "Save As" ? So, which one do you use it ?
Could you try the "Excel 4.0" option and see if this can be opened on the PC ?
You speak about fonts ? Do the fonts you use on the mac in your worksheet exist on the PC ? (Otherwise the PC will replace any unknown font by an equivalent)

Philippe,
Sorry, I was talking about Fonts...... I just checked and you are right, the Font on the MAC is not existing on the PC.
I would like to transfert all the Fonts from the MAC to the PC because I'm sure there will be more than one font missing on the PC.
Do you know a way to accomplish this task??????
Thanks for your help again,

I try to move fonts from one Mac (Jaguar) to one PC here at the office..I only move the TrueType ones..and I falled in so many troubles, I certainly lost half of my hairs !
The windows system had prefer to write down the font names I used and manually install them from the Windows release media.
And doing this, we still faced minor problems on some fonts
So I asked the PC guy what fonts he had on the PC and, from this moment, only use the same font on the Mac.
Wereclassical fonts, not special fonts to obtain extra effects.
A firend of mine moved the fonts from its Panther mac to its XP laptop and he stated it was so easy.
He said he found all the explanations on the Web: I'll have a look and give you back what I'ff find

If you find something else, let me know!
and Thanks again,

Yes, patrick, you can give a chance to this program.
>From version 4.5, MacDisk offers certain features to
> transfer and convert font files between the Macintosh and the PC.
And carefully test the fonts exchanged. Fonts are the most complicated thing to transfer from an OS to another
