Knowledge Level: Beginner

Problem: Other
Computer Type: Apple
Model: PowerMac 5400/200
RAM: Don't know
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: System 7.6.1

Description:
I inherited this computer at work and don't have any info sheets on it.

What's my maximum RAM extension?

I mistakenly tried to install QuickTime twice and keep getting an error message each time I boot up telling me this. How can I get rid of the message?

Thanks. Someday I may know what I'm doing before this is even a worse dinosaur.

hello suzy

For info on you computer, go here http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n21012

Sounds like you have two versions of quicktime installed with different version numbers. Go to the extensions folder in the system folder, and find the quick time extensions. Delete the one(s) with lower version numbers or older dates. You may have to use list view with list by date created/modified or version number. Let me know how it goes. Also you may want to consider upgrading to the latest system version. Currently it is 8.5, and there is lots of improvements made since the version you currently have.
