I've noticed that my G4 ibook has what looks like a casing default at the back right below where the screen is clasped to the base of the laptop. There is a gap between the clasp and the base of the computer and it makes a popping sound when I grip the ibook from the back.

The shop has said not to worry and I have experienced no adverse performance thus far (it's two months old).

Should I be concerned? Should I return to the store and get it exchanged?

Or is there no probs?

Thanks for your advice guys

Jim

Hi Jim,

I think that you have a small problem that really only you can answer. If you feel there is a defect in the casting and you feel you are not having any trouble at this time, Then its going to be your choice as what to do (i.e. return for replacement or repair). If your not going to be happy with the defect, then I would think you will need to return it. If the defect is something that isn't going to bother you, Then i wouldn't worry about it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for using www.macosx.com

Regards
Eddy
