Running the Hardware test V 2.2.1 on my Imac G5 turned up error code:
2NVD/4/4:2103
I have not been able to find what this means.

that code means that you have a problem reported on the logic board
NVD I think, refers to the video chip, so likely you are having a problem with video.
Try these first:
Shutdown, power on, then retest
reset NVRAM (a PRAM reset should be OK), then retest again
If this test still fails, then the logic board needs to be replaced.
