KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: Beginner

PROBLEM: Software
COMPUTER TYPE: Compaq
MODEL: DeskPro 4000, Pentium 166
RAM: 16meg
OS VERSION: Windows 95
SERVICE PACK:

DESCRIPTION:

Hi!
In my computer there is a 1 gig C:drive and a Sanyo CD rom drive at D:. I wanted to test a Goldstar CRD-580 CD rom drive. I downdloaded one driver "r580b.exe" from the website
and installed it. I checked CONFIG.SYS, both device drivers (for Sanyo and Goldstar) was there. I also downloaded another driver from Goldstar called "win95 col.exe" and unzipped it. It told me that there were 2 files unzipped, but I didn"t see any files in the folder.
The big problem is, after I restarted, I can"t access the C: drive. I tried rebot in safe mode, rebot with system disk. Nothing can get me onto the C drive nor the D drive.
Please give me some advise. Anything that would prevent me from reformatting the drive.
Thanks and Best Regards!
