Description:
The is a weird and not too earth-shaking problem, but it's bothering because my computer is otherwise perfect! The side door which holds the cables on my iMac came unhinged the first time it was opened. It has two little claw-like hooks that look like they should snap onto two small posts. However, no amount of pressure will make it relatch. I'm afraid of breaking the plastic if I push too hard. Any helpful hints?

Hello Kathy and Welcome to No Wonder!

It looks like maybe the door wasn't properly seated when you bought your iMac. I'm afraid you're just gonna have to cross your fingers, bite your lip, and give it a push. Try to work it in as easy as possible, maybe even a little 3 in 1 oil will help it. If you really don't think you can do it w/o breaking it, you could always try taking your new iMac back to the store. Same thing if you end up breaking it

Good Luck, and let me know how it turns out,

Kristina
