Knowledge Level: Expert but stumped

Problem: Combination
Computer Type: Apple Computers
Model: iMac
RAM: Not related
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
I am upgrading a network for a small bussiness. We are beginning to take out some of their older macs and putting in new ones. We replaced 2 of their with iMacs and one of them with a G3 300 machine (these are trial upgrades to test performance). They have a managed 24 port Asante hub which has had no problems up until this point. For some reason the iMacs both drop off the network unexpectedly and require re logging. I have tried the iMacs on different ports of the hub, I have double checked the software network settings... Do you know of any specific problem with the iMac network or have any suggestions? I also ruled out the possibility of a card incompatibility with their 10 BT network becasue the same technology is inside of the G3 300 Machine which has had no problems. Any thoughts?

Hi welcome to Nowonder

I have no answer for you but do have a site for you which is loaded with iMac information regarding the modem disconnects. http://www.macfixit.com
If you scroll down the page at the bottom is a trouble shooting iMac. Just follow the link. I hope somewhere in there will be the answer to your problem.
