I'm trying to instal VPC 7 on OS 10.2.8. I can install the files, restart my machine, but then get a message saying that I need to log on as administrator and then the VPC installation wizard quits. Trying to continue with installation by running the VPC application results in the same message and quits immediately. I am the administrator; there is only one account on my computer. Why isn't this working and how can I fix it? Thanks.

There may be only one account on the machine, but does that account have admin privileges? Check to see if you have actually made your login account an admin account. Being the only account doesn't automatically make you an admin user. You could also be a standard user without admin privileges.

The account does have admin privileges (it says Admin in the account type when I log in). Also, I have also routinely been able to install other software after typing my password without difficulty.

All I can suggest, then, is a visit to Microsoft's support site for VPC on the Mac to see if this is a known problem with a fix.
Also, I'll return you to the open pool in case someone else has an answer for you.

And if you create a new account on the machine, give this account admin privileges and try to install VPC from this new account ?

I tried this, too - still the same problem when I create a brand new account with admin privileges. Restarting after installing, or double-clicking the VPC application, still brings up a window saying I need to log on as an administrator and restart.
