RAM: 16meg
RAM Enhancer: Virtual Memory
OS Version: System 7.5.2
Description:
i hope you can help me. i've searched all weekend for an
explanation and solution to this problem. i was doing some regular maintenance, running disinfectant, then running
norton to check and optimize my hard drive. when norton
scanned my hard drive, it gave me this error:
Scan Catalog
An error was found in a leaf node in the catalog b-tree.
A record in this leaf node has an incorrect key. (node 1150, record 1) (5,4,12)
The leaf node could not be fixed.
An error was found in a leaf node in the catalog b-tree.

The leaf node could not be fixed.
what does this mean? what, if anything, can i do to fix it?
how serious is this problem, since it couldn't be fixed?
please help!

Hi Michelle, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
If you were running Norton's from your hard drive, run it again from the Norton's disk. You can't repair some problems when running from the disk you're trying to repair.
If you booted off Norton's when you recieved these messages, then you'll have to backup your files, initialize your hard drive, then reinstall your System and software.
