I have 10.4.1 installed on an iMac G4 800 and am having trouble backing up using SuperDuper. Although I can get a bootable clone of my HD on my Maxtor BU drive, the Console log is reporting some errors and multi reports of "SCSIAction: unimplimented".
It appears to be centered around a piece of audo software "JackPilot", which is not updated for Tiger yet and is used in conjunction with Audio HiJack
It has been suggested that I do an archive and install from my 10.4 system DVD, after powering off and starting up from cold using the shift key.
Does this sound feasible and are there any safeguards I need to take?
Finally, have you come across this type of problem before with Tiger/
Thanks for any info..

Hi Peterde,
I don't quite understand your problem. You can get a bootable clone of your HD, so what's the issue here? If the error you're getting is a few entries in the system log I wouldn't worry about it.
If you happen to have a HP all-in-one printer, it might prevent the computer from sleeping and cause the SCSI error. In the case, see here for a solution:

HP consumer printers have bad, bad drivers. If you can get it to work without using any HP software, do that. Otherwise try to get the newest version from their website.
Let me know if you need more information.

Hi Charlie
Many thanks for coming back on my problem. Yes, I guess that Console reports should be taken with a pinch of salt, and getting a bootable clone is paramount.
However, the console reports are far from few and the "SCSIAction: unimplimented" report runs into hundreds.
I also got this on the log:

Hi Peterde,
Those error messages are intended for developers and you shouldn't need to worry about them. However, it does seem a little odd that it's reporting this with SystemUIServer. How did you install Tiger? Do you do an upgrade install or an archive and install. Also, is your copy of Tiger legit (retail / goldmaster)?
If these messages annoy you, do an archive and install and it should solve the problems.
Cheers,
Charlie
