Hi I need to upgrade memory in my iMac G4 and PowerBook G4 (12inch). I'd like to do it myself but don't know how. I should say that I want to put it in the factory slut. Could you guys help?
Best Regards ... Ondrej

Dear Ondre,
My name is Vinko and I will attempt to answer your question.
Since I do not know which iMac G4 model you have I will direct you to the Apple
Technotes on the iMac G4 (flat panel).
Here is the
PDF file for Apple's instructions on installing RAM into a PowerBook G4 (12").
I hope this helps.

Hi Vinko, thanks for the fast answer. It doesn't help. This I already know. I need to get inside. In to the factory slut.
Thanks again ... Ondrej

Dear Ondrej,
Thank you for your reply.
Are you referring to the iMac? I presume so, since the PDF file I referred you to had detailed explanation for installing RAM into the PowerBook.
Again, I do not know which model of IMac G4 you are talking about, but you may want to try MacWorld's
instructions.

Hi Vinko, thanks again but this didn't help either.
I have a 17inch, flat panel, iMac G4, 2004. So I need exactly the same thing what you have found for the older iMac.
As far as the PowerBook, I need to get under the keyboard to replace the memory in the factory slut.
I really appreciate this ... Ondrej

Dear Ondrej,
Thank you for your reply.
Your iMac Flat Panel 17" has one user accessible slot and one factory installed RAM slot. When you say "2004" you do mean you purchased it before July 2004? Do you have a USB 2.0 slot? This information are important to identify which IMac Flat Panel 17" you have.
You may also try Apple's web chat to see if they can help. To reach Apple's Web Chat, you will need to start at Apple's
iMac Support page, then click on the "Chat with a support agent" link.
As for your PowerBook G4 12", you should not have to get underneath the keyboard. It has a user accessible panel at the bottom of the case as explained in the PDF document that I had referred you to. If this is not the case, then you will need to be more specific about the model of your PowerBook G4 12".
I hope this helps.
