Knowledge Level: Intermediate

Problem: Combination
Computer Type: Motorola
Model: StarMax 4000 604e
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: Ram Doubler 1.x
OS Version: System 7.6.1

Description:
I have a StarMax 4000 and a Performa 6220CD that share a 33.6 modem and 17-inch monitor via an OmniView switch box. I have done a clean install and even initialized my hard disk and started over from scratch. I've tried it with and without Speed and RAM Doubler 1.3.2.
I'm stumped!
The mouse cursor doesn't freeze, it still moves, but nothing else works! The problem occurs on and off-line. Could the mouse be the culprit? I've tried everthing else I can think of.
The mouse is real sensitive and I have to be very careful not to click or move it when the computer is doing something, otherwise it will cause a stall, midstream!
P.S. My Performa running system 7.5.5 is much more stable!

Hi welcome to Nowonder

Go in your system folder to preferences and pull out and trash your mouse preference. If you are using a Kennsington Mouse there is an upgrade to this at http://www.versiontracker.com. If after trashing the preference it still causes the problems. I would try starting up with your base extensions to see if the mouse will work on base extensions. If it does then you have a conflict with other extensions. Known conflicts with mouse are After Dark 4.0 and Nortons Disk doctor. Best regards sharona@nowonder
