Computer starts up fine when external CD-ROM is not connected to SCSI port. When it is connected, floppy with flashing question mark appears (no startup disk recognized).

Gord,
1) SCSI termination problem
2) Wrong SCSI id (0) on the external CD-ROM. Set it to 3.
