Description:

If I need to use Norton Disk Doctor, is it best to
1. Log on; insert the StarMax Installation CD and run it from the CD - or
2. Start up initially from the Installation CD and run it from Disk Doctor on the hard drive - or
3. Start up initially from the Installation CD and run it from the CD???

Hi Nancy, welcome to Nowonder support!

The answer is: "None of the above"!

You should be restarting your Mac using the Norton CD-ROM as the startup disk.

There are a couple ways to do this. I use the "c" key method.

1. Insert the Norton CD
2. Hold the "c" down and use your mouse to go to the Menu/Special/Restart.
3. Continue to hold the "c" key until you see a floppy disk icon show up.
4. Let the key go and it will continue.

Now, your Mac's Hard Disk is "not" mounted and Norton can do it's job.
