TICKET ARCHIVE -> Nothing Shuffled?

I have a question about dock connector iPods--like mine--which seems to misunderstand the idea of "Shuffle Songs." It shuffles things for sure, except it clearly repeats the same small number of songs again and again, instead of going through the whole library of 3500 songs on the pod. I have tried again and again to fix this by emptying everything, resetting, and reformatting the pod, but it seems as if the pod is randomizing only a small number of regularly listened-to songs and playing those, instead of playing different, fresh music. Any ideas about how to fix this or what to do?

Hi,

Check if you accidentally made a playlist. The iPod might be playing that playlist instead of the whole library.

bests,

Thanks Peter--

I'm actually talking about playing from playlists--large ones. I have about 15 or more playlists on my pod which I keep updated in iTunes, and most of these playlists contain at least 300 songs. Even so, the Pod insists on playing songs I have already heard. Is there any way to reset the Pod or somehow scramble the order it shuffles things in so that it really is randomized?

Hi again,

The iPod's random play feature is not really that random. It would really play songs that you already heard. Anyways if you would want to read further discussion on this here's the link.
