Description:
Our one machine keeps asking to insert a floppy disk that no longer exsists (a Kinko's customer disk) we just select cancle every time it appears but would love to get rid of it
forever! can you help?

Matt,

I would reset the PRAM and rebuild the desktop, generally a restart should fix this problem, but it would appear that something else is at work here.

1. Reset PRAM - restart the CPU while holding down the Command-Option-P and R keys. Hold these keys down until the machine resets 4 or 5 times, the last time release all keys except the Command and Option keys. Hold these down until the machine asks if you are sure that you want to rebuild the desktop. Select OK and let it finish booting, then reboot a final time.

2. Check your start up items folder in the System Folder to see if there is an alias to a file on the missing floppy.

3. Do a Find File on the disk name to see if there is an alias to the disk anywhere on the system.
