Dear johnnf,

If you wish to input music into your Macinotsh, you will need sampling software. However, there is nothing available that can attach a Macintosh to an old record player. A workaround would be to attach a microphone as an input device. The sound quaity would not be good. Also, be aware that it may not be possible to sample an entire record on your hard drive (unless your drive is 9 gb or higher.)

If you wish to make a copy of your CD, you will probably the need the Toaster application. Check with manufacturer that it is possible to use this software with your model. Or ask them what software they recommend. Note: most music cds are copyrighted. If you try to sell a duplicate you can will get into trouble.

If you simply wish to hear cds from your Macintosh, simply use the Apple CD player application. It is located under Apple Menu items.
