Knowledge Level: Intermediate
Problem: Software
Computer Type: Apple
Model: 6400/200
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8

Description:
Every time I download Internet Explorer or any version of Netscape from there respective sites. I get a message saying

" Application, "PowerPlant" Destroyed or Corrupted "
or to that effect.

Now, knowing what powerplant is, I just turned off Virtaul memory, and I thought it would rid the problem. FALSE. I've done it three times and all three times this has happened. And after it happens the only real application ( besides the finder ) that opens is SimpleText. Now, I have nothing against SimpleText, but it's not what I need.

Any Solutions?

Hello Joseph and Welcome to No Wonder!

I'm sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, but I'm really not sure what PowerPlant is, or what it has to do with downloading files on the internet. Perhaps you can give me some more information?

Without knowing more, the best advice I can offer is to reinstall PowerPlant so that it is no longer "Destroyed or Corrupted." It's also a good idea to make sure you are using the latest version <1.8.1>. An updater can be found here:

ftp://ftp.metrowerks.com/pub/updates..._Installer.sit

Short of that, I'd recommend you contact Metrowerks's CodeWarrior Support by filling out the form here:

Good Luck,
