Model: DeskWriter 550C
RAM: Not related
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1
Description:
I have an HP Deskwriter 550 C. I've had it since 9/94. Up until 2 months ago it was connected to a Macintosh Performa 630 CD. Beginning in January, it has been connected to a Power Mac 8600/250. Every couple of months or so the printer cable just stops working. No pushing, or pulling or unplugging accounts for it. Right it the middle of a document it just stops. Then I have to drop everything and run out and buy a new one. It's not possible to ask HP questions unless you want to pay big bucks up front to do so. The company that makes the cables Belkin tells me that this is nearly impossible to o have happen once let alone on a regular basis.
Have you every heard of this? Is there a solution to the problem? I only replaced the last cable about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I don't think I can afford to keep replacing these cables. Am I nuts? Thanks.
