Knowledge Level: Beginner
Problem: Software
Computer Type: apple
Model: performa6200
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
After installing OS8.1 my laser printer - LW Select 310 - will not print any document containing a clipart logo that I have been using for many months. Under OS 7.6 and using LaserWriter GX there was never any problem. At present no error message comes up: the LW310 logo behaves in the normal way and the light flashes on the printer, so communication between computer and printer is OK; after some seconds the process ceases as if the PRINT command had never been sent. If I wasnt to print without the logo, everything works normally. Why has this changed since I installed 8.1?

Go to the Apple menu and select Chooser and select your printer. If background printing is available, turn it off. Restart your computer. Keep your extensions turned on. Try to print using several of your applications. If that does not work, restart the computer by selecting Restart on the Special menu. Then, press the Shift key. This will turn your extensions off. Insert disk 1 of your printer driver installation diskettes and reinstall your printer drivers. Insert requested disks when prompted to. After reinstalling your printer drivers, restart your computer with the extensions turned on and try to print.
