Knowledge Level: Intermediate

Problem: Software
Computer Type: apple
Model: 7200/75
RAM: 48meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: System 7.6

Description:
When I try to run Printshop it crashes without fail and when I got to Norton to see what the problem was it give me this message: 68k exception - bus error exception When I run Norton I get NO problems found. Every now and then not often the computer may crash and in the Norton crash gaurd I get this message as the reason quite often. I have tried to reload Printshop but to no avail. I really don't want to do a clean install because of all the updates and when I put the last update on the system has been much more stable that usuall. I can live with this but in the back of my mind I feel something is not right. Can you help. Is apple ever going to give back phone support do you know? This was the main reason I bougt a Mac and now they have dropped us unless we pay?

Thanks for your williness to help.
Jeff

Hi Jeffery, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
Try removing Crash Guard from the system. It causes a lot of problems.

Then increase the memory to PrintShop.

Bus error: The Mac is looking for memory that doesn't exist. Either the program you are running has a bug, or you've got a conflict. Reinstall the software (application or system). May also be a memory problem.

As far as free telephone support from Apple, they just made a settlement with the Government about this. Depending on when you bought your computer, you may be entitled to free tech support. You would have to check with Apple about this.

If your not in the range of dates this applies to, you wouldn't be able to get free tech support.
