DESCRIPTION:

I am new to programming and new to windows 98 but what I'm trying to do is simply this: create a java program in notepad, for instance and use the javac to compile in dos.

with win 98 I discovered you can only operate in one or the other: windows or dos. you can't toggle back and forth from notepad to the dos prompt. how can I get around this? I don't want to have to restart everytime I compile a program I write.

Please advise.

Thanks
