ARA is a 2 part program. You need to make one of the computers the ARA Server, that means you need to install ARA Personal Server on the computer you want to dial into. on the other computer, you need to install ARA Client.

All you have to do turn on the Answer Incoming Calls on the server (it's in the ARA control panel as a checkbox) and then it will accept calls from a ARA client dialing into it. You need to turn on File Sharing on the server also and create a user ID with a PW. this info will need to be entered into the ARA control panel in the client machine when you are dialing into the server (the manual is extremely clear and the software is very easy to setup). the only issue is that you must leave the ARA server on if you plan to dial into it. the faster the modems the faster the connection rate. after you have dialed in, you go to the chooser and select Appleshare and then go through the motions just like you were loggin onto a file server in a Appletalk network.

TimBuckTu is also a viable option to ARA. It works along the same lines but offers more capabilities.
