Knowledge Level: Intermediate
Problem: Hardware
Computer Type: Apple
Model: 6100/66
RAM: 4meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: System 7.5.5

Description:
I'm installing a pair of 72pin, 70ns 4 meg simms into a 6100/66. Have verified that simms work in another machine.

When installed in the machine in question, they are not recognized. In fact if I install only one Simm in it, the machine does not crash, as I would expect it to.

I have zapped the PRAM - what other steps should I take to resolve this issue?

try swapping the chips from their current slot to the other slot (reverse them). the chips may indeed by fine, but some boards just don't like some chips. if reversing doens't help, then get 2 more chips and try them (different manufacturer). if they still aren't recognized, then you probably have a bad simm slot(s) on the board.
