If I make a spreadsheet in Claris Works it does not get listed on my Recent Documents in the Apple Menu. Can I do anything aboyut this?

Apple Menu Options isn't really customizable, but here there's a shareware product I'm enjoying which does a better job at organizing recently accessed files.
www.actionutilities.com will link you to Action Files, which seems nicely stable so far on my G3 running OS 8.5. Here is the registration code, if you decide to keep it past the 30 day demo limit:
