Hi,
I want to clean up my powerbook and reinstall tiger, I have only brought the disk image with me? How to proceed?

Thanks for the reply.
I have already burned the disk image on to a cd and tried starting from there. But when the mac asks me restart nothing happens afterwards. it just restarts....

Is the disk image opened? That is, is it still the file ending in '.dmg', or is it a small white disk?
If it's still a .dmg file, double click it to get the disk showing, then see if it's listed in your Startup Disk PreferencePane. If not, it won't install.

i burned the dmg file in disk utility and tried it in start up. i can now find it there.
Should i then just resstart?

Look in the Startup Disk preferencePane and see if you can select that disk. If you can, select it and restart.
