I've got a G3 running OSX 10.2 and I want to enbale it to be seen from the Windows machines on the network. All machines are behind a firewall and running DHCP. The Windows machines are in the same workgroup and there is domain. I want to let the Windows machines browse the G3 disk the way they browse other windows machine's disks.
Wel it's been a while since I have used 10.2, but I will give this a try. You can find most of the information you need here:

It involves using something called smb addressing so that Windows users (2000 or XP) can see your Mac. It would be much easier if you could upgrade to 10.3 or 10.4.
In 10.4 you simply open System Preferences, click on Sharing then click Services, then check Personal File Sharing and Windows File Sharing. That's all you will have to do, other than setting up an account(s) on your Mac to allow Windows users to authenticate. Once you have enabled the file sharing options, and restarted, all XP users would have to do is add your computer as a network place; the could find your computer by browsing the network. The procedure with 10.3 is very similar.
If your network administrators know how to set up smb adressing, then using 10.2 on your Mac will work. Let me reiterate that upgrading to 10.3 even would make the whole process much simpler.
