Description:
When trying to shut this machine down, it doesn't carry out the command and must be turned off by the switch. I have tested the battery, zapped pram, rebuilt the desktop. I have tried just about everything that I can think of. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don,
Boot the system and hold down the shift key. This will keep extensions from loading. Then shut down. If it shuts down normally, you have an extension that is causing the problem.
Check to see in there is a program or alias in the Shut Down folder.
