Description:
Ever since I installed Microsoft Office several weeks ago, it seems an eternity for everything to load when I turn on the computer. How can I adjust it so that Office does not load each time I start up and how can I speed up the process when first starting up? You folks have been wonderful with my past questions.

How can I also speed up my surfing? I defragmented my hard drive several days ago but it doesn't seem to have speeded anything along.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Jules,
Thanks for using NoWonder!

My name is Bryan and I will be helping you with your slow bootup problem.

To prevent office from opening everytime you start up your computer (or any other program), do the folowing:

RIGHT click one time on the task bar (the bar the start button is on) and left click on properties. Next, click on the "Start Menu Programs" tab and then click on the "Remove..." button. On this screen you should have a list of all the programs that are on your start menu. Now click on the plus (+) symbol next to "programs" and then the plus next to "startup". Under here, it lists all the programs that start everytime the computer is started. Click on the one you want to remove (so that it's highlighted) and then click the "Remove" button on the bottom. That's it!

If you have any more question regarding this, let me know.
