DESCRIPTION:

My son-in-law has a new computer with Windows 98 and he is trying to install kids educational software that is for Windows 3.1 and 95. He is not able to install it and we would like to know if that is a normal problem? Can you use 95 software with Windows 98?
Thanks

Hi Lila, and welcome to NoWonder!!

The problem with trying to load those educational programs into a Windows 98 system, is that those programs do not have the latast drivers and .dll files needed to run in Windows 98. Windows 98 is that much different than the other 2 versions, making it harder to run older programs. In my opinion, it was done this way so we could all go out and buy all new programs....something they never told anyone, until they find out the hard way, as your son-in-law.

If you have any further questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Thanks again for using NoWonder!!
