KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: Expert but stumped

PROBLEM: Software
COMPUTER TYPE: IIT
MODEL: Pentium Pro 200
RAM: 64meg
OS VERSION: Windows 95
SERVICE PACK: OSR2

DESCRIPTION:

Dear NoWonder,

When I boot up my computer it stops at the "Microsoft Windows
95 Start Menu"

1. Normal
2. Logged
3.
4.
5.

etc.

Normal is highlighted; I press enter, and the computer continues to bootup as expected.

This is becomes a problem when I try to run the NETZIP 6.3 program and it gives me an error mesasge "Computer must be in Win32 mode. I believe they are related, but can figure out how to get the computer to bootup without going through the Start Menu first.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Hi Hugh...Welcome to No Wonder.

Open up the file Msdos.sys (in your root) in an text editor such as Notepad.
Under the heading [Options] change the line that says BootMenu=1 to BootMenu=0.

Save the file, and next time you boot up, then menu will be gone.

Hope this helps,
Pete
