TICKET ARCHIVE -> startup sound loud

Description:
The start-up sound is so loud I can't stand it. I have turned all the sounds in the Sounds control panel to the very lowest or OFF in some cases. I have turned the outside control on the CPU tower all the way down. I have no sounds coming out of the computer during use, but the start up sound is still killing me.

Try resetting your PRAM and rebuild the desktop after you set the sound where you want it.
