Description:
I just began getting strange oriental characters in window
dialog boxes! The kind where I usuaally get a warning that
my battery is low, or some kind of error message. Now they
are no longer in english! Not sure what language.
I recognize this, saw it once before but dont recall the
reason or solution.

Hi welcome to Nowonder
I dont know what system you are running, but when I installed Sys 8.0 I had the same problem, Apple tech said to turn off the platinum setting in my appearance panel and restart. I did this and it went away. I later turned it back on and it has been fine since. Best regards sharona@nowonder
