Description:
Since technical support is involves a long wait for my inner city elementary school, I hope that you can tell me what to do next to resolve a problem with one of our school printers. Problem - unwanted lines appear every 4 inches approximately. What I've done: Yes, I read the manual for the Laser Writer Select 300 and removed the toner tray and rocked it back and forth several times. I also printed a cleaning page. Lines still appear, there is no improvement. There are no more suggestions given in the manual. I welcome your sage advise.

have you tried a new toner cartidge? have you tried cleaning the glass roller in the current toner cartridge? it is accessible from under the black flap on the toner. you can clean it with water and COTTON cloth. it sometimes gets toner melted/stuck onto it and cleaning can remove problem. IF problem is exactly the same distance between lines on the paper, then it is most likely the toner roller because it rotates circularly and contacts the paper at exact distances betweeen rotation cycles.
