Description:
I've just read in MacWorld Magazine that some PC based PCI 7inch 3DFX cards will work with the Techworks Power3D PCI card drivers. Is this true? If so, would you know what PC-PCI 3DFX cards are compatible? I've looked everywhere and have not found any information on the WWW to confirm this. I live in Canada and to buy the Techworks card would cost me close to $400!!! im looking for an alternative solution like the NE 3D monitor cable and drivers. PC 3DFX cards are only about $100 dollars here in jolly old canada.

Hi Elliot, greetings from No Wonder!

Yes, you can use PC 3Dfx cards in Macintoshes; there is a list of compatiblity-tested cards at the NE3D website, here:

Once you have the card, you then simply need to download the appropriate drivers from TechWorks, here:

Also, you should note that since you have a PowerCenter, you shouldn't even need to buy the NE3D--the cable included with the PC card should work fine in your VGA monitor port. Hope that helps...
