Description:
When loading a file from a unix system, the text file has garbage characters. Opening the same files on a windows PC there is no manipulation of the information. Even sending the files via FTP the files are corrupted. Usually happens with larger text files. Is it a 7-bit ASCII issue? Is there an easy workaround?

Thanks in advance

Hello Will,

The only work around that comes to mind would be if you were able to get your hands on a set of the MacLink Plus Translators that used to be loaded onto Macs until very recently and now must be purchased. They would be most likely able to open files for you.

People with Connectix Virtual PC v2.1.2 on their Macs would also be able to open the files. It is a PC emulator which can reside on Mac and lets you utilize both WINDOWS and Mac files on the same machine. I have had it for about a year. It is not what I like but it does help me to comprehend solutions to PC user problems by using a single CPU.
