I just upgraded h/drive etc on Pismo G3 Powerbook.
Installed Tiger as I was starting afresh.

When i installed a programme from 9 it informed me there was no os9/classic.
I installed 0S 9.1 from my old i-mac(now gone).

On trying to use it I was told the version I had was too old and needed to be a version after the Pismo.

Apple in the UK seem to have nothing to do with 9 or classic now...and I have all this old stuff on OS9..........

is there a solution ?
(I naively thought there'd be some kinda classic with Tiger, just like panther).....

I also have a few buddies with similar concerns(one is holding 3 old powerbooks, at present for "safety'!).

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve

The Pismo should run on any OS 9.x system from 9.0.4 and up.

Were you able to completely install 9.1?
Will it boot into OS 9?

Could be the OS 9 install itself. Apple always shipped machine specific disks with machines that wouldn't install, or properly install on a different model.

If you have managed to install OS 9.1, and can boot into it, selecting it in the Startup controls, do that, then update it to 9.2.2.
