Why won't my Titanium PowerBook G4 start up?
When I attempt to start up I hear the chimes but the screen is blank.
The battery is fully charged as I leave it on constant charge, but nothing.
I have followed the instructions on the apple website, but nothing.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
There are a couple of things you can try.
1) Do you have the Hardware Diagnostic CD? If so give that a try.
2) If you have added any memory or other third party Hardware.
It may be something serious with your computer's hardware. Perhaps a visit to a Mac Tech is warranted.
Thank you for the prompt reply.
On the apple website it stated that I should use the install/restore disc to attempt to rectify the apple. Nothing.
I have another hardware disc which I will try.
I bought the powerbook about 7 or 8 weeks ago at it was working fine until 2 weeks ago.
It is second hand and the previous owner claimed to of increased the memory, the operating system and the battery.
I havent had a chance to insure the item and im very worried that the problem is more serious than I imagine.
Usually four beeps indicate a bad motherboard? Also, the first thing the computer check when turn on is memory. If one or more of the memory chips are bad, the computer will stop functioning at that point.

Check this article out, and related ones, on how to boot in certain modes, and repair the Hard Drive. If it is a software issue.
thanks again for getting back so quickly.
The chime is a regular sound. no abnormal bleeping and the powerbooks sounds as if it is checking for computer memory as normal (as if it were visable).
The other day I tried to start up using the disc which I could hear the powerbook reading but nothing was visable.
I am printing information from the link and will try agian tonight.
