Description:
Can I transfer data between my Macintosh quadra 650 and the iMac? How do I go about it? Also, can I hook up a Color Stylewriter 2500 to the iMac? thanks for your help. Jetje@aol.com

Henriette,

The way I would accomplish this would be to get an FriendlyNet Ethernet Transceiver,FriendlyNet 5 port hub, and a AsanteTalk from Asante. You'll have to get the LocalTalk option for the Color Stylewriter also. You'll also need two LocalTalk boxes.

You will then connect the 650 and the iMac to the hub via ethernet and then connect the LocalTalk side of the AsanteTalk to the 2500 and the ethernet side of the AsanteTalk to the hub.

The second way is to get the Asante 5 Port hub and Asante Ethernet transceiver and the Farallon iPrintST. This will connect the 2500 to the ethernet, but you don't have to buy the LocalTalk option for the 2500 or the two LocalTalk boxes.

I still prefer the first solution as you can connect up to 8 LocalTalk devices to the AsanteTalk, where the Farallon solution you can connect only one device.
