I am having a problem installing my turbo-cad. I was told to use a Boma Archive helper instead of the stuff-it expander. I have never heard of this, and still cannot install my 2-d version of turbo-cad.

I actually did call the tech support, and they didn't have an answer for me either.

Have you tried Stuffit Expander to decompress the file?

Is it a .sit file, .dmg, etc?

What exactly happens when you try to install?

It's a .zip file. My default is stuff-it expander. When I try to open the file, stuff-it quits. The distributer of Turbo Cad has noted this problem when trying to open the program with stuff-it. Apparently the program can be opened using BOM Archive Helper. My problem is that I do not have BOM, and I cannot seem to figure out where to get it. Is there a place where I can buy or download BOM? Is there any other decompression program for MAC?
Thanks,
Julie.

Bom Archive Helper is part of the OS X install. It's located here;

/system/library/coreservices

HighLight the file, then do (keys) Command-I. In that window, 'Open With' choose Bom Archive helper. If it's not selected already, just use the drop down menu and if it's listed there choose it. If it's not listed, choose 'Other' and navigate to it with the path above.

I've looked through the 10.2x system and Bom Archive helper isn't included. Apple didn't start until 10.3.

I've uploaded the program from a 10.3 disc. You can download it using this link;

http://homepage.mac.com/maktek/BOMAr...elper.app.sitx

Use Stuffit to unstuff. Leave it on your desktop and drop the TurboCad file onto it and see if it opens. I don't know if it will work in the older system.

If not, try this program;
Panther Unzip - 1.0
