TICKET ARCHIVE -> Turning Off File Vault

I have File Vault turned on and have not been able to turn it off. System preferences crashes when I try to turn it off. Is there another way to turn off File Vault?

FileVault needs sufficient disk space to decrypt all of the info on your system that it has encrypted. I'm not exactly sure of how much space it needs but i can try to find out. I'll also search for an alternative.

What is your HD capacity and what is available?

I think you're onto something there. I'll transfer all of my data onto the external drive and try turning file vault off. Thank you.
