pls ,
how can i get upgrade for mac OS x from version 10.3.9 to
mac osx version 10.4 , on power PC G4 1.25 Ghz.

You will need to buy OS X Tiger ( 10.4 ) from a retailer or direct from the apple store.

i have the latest dvd OS 10.4 , i tried the alert appear " you Can t install
on this computer"

why ??? i don t know.....

Where did you get the Tiger disc from? Also what color is the disc?

i get the DVD install Disc from the box of other new machine power mac G5

Grey color.

Hi Rudolf,


The problem you are having is caused by the install disc you are trying to use. The disc you are trying to use will not work on a G4. That disc will only work on some G5s has apple has made its disc to work with only the computer that it came with. It might be possible that the disc will work with some other G5s but it won't work on all G5s nor will it work at all on a G4. You will need to get a retail version disc of Tiger (OS X 10.4) if you want to install Tiger on your G4.
