Description:
Hello,

After solving a problem that I had with my E-mail program I noticed that all of the contets of my hard drive which I normally have listed by Name and alphabetically from A-Z,are now listed from Z-A! All folders in the drive are listed that way when I open them too! What Happened? I ran all the VIRUS stuff that I got,and came up with no viruses.

Dear Tom,

What you are noticing is neither a virus, nor a bug, but a new feature of Mac OS 8.1. Notice the scroll bar along the right side of a window in "List" view. Now, look immediately above that scroll bar and you will see a light grey triangle. By clicking on it, you can change its direction. If it is pointing up, it does an "ascending" sort, i.e., A-Z. If it is pointing down, it does a "descending" sort, Z-A, which is the position you have it in now. You probably accidentally clicked it while scrolling.

Hope that helps.
