I have recently discovered I require to use a USB 2.0 device but I have no USB 2.0 port. I need to know how I can get a USB 2.0 port preferably in the most cost effective manner! I have firewire ports available; I don't know if that helps.

What model Mac do you have?
If you are not sure, describe it with as much detail as you can.
Also, what version of OS X are you running? If you are not using OS X at all, then you will not find any solution with USB 2.0

Also, what sort of device do you need to use?
Additional info: FireWire cannot be converted to USB 2.0 (or any USB) as the technologies are quite different.

I have the eMac G4 1GHz 256mb Superdrive and I'm running Panther (10.3.9). The device I need to use is Eye TV 2.0. Thanks for quick responses

Some 1 GHz eMacs DO have USB 2, so check in your System Profiler, in the USB tab. If it shows any listing for 'USB Hi-speed', then you are OK. If no USB Hi-Speed, then that's it, you can't do USB 2 on this eMac.
If you don't have USB 2.0 ports built-in, then you are out-of-luck this time.
There is no way to upgrade to USB 2.0, other than replacing the eMac with a newer model, or another newer Mac.
