KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: Intermediate

PROBLEM: Other
COMPUTER TYPE: custom built
MODEL: 486
RAM: Not related
OS VERSION: Windows 95
SERVICE PACK: not relavant

DESCRIPTION:

I need to know what type of files you can send as an attachment when faxing from one computer to another. I am thinking it has to be either a text or picture file. Can it be a proprietary file like a chart from Window on Wallstreet program? My nephew was trying to send that and also an executable file and it didn't work. I told him I didn't think the fax program would recognize either one and probably would not send it. Sending a written letter worked fine. I seldom have faxed anything through my computer so really don't know for sure or understand the process.

Thank you for you help.

You can not send files other than what you would fax on a regular fax machine. Exe and files like that will not work as you can not read them on your own machine (you can run them but not read them). You may be able to send pictures but probably not as a file it would have to be copied to a word processor type program then faxed.

Hope this helps...

Chris
