PROBLEM: Combination
COMPUTER TYPE: Toshiba Satellite Pro 460CDX
MODEL: Pentium 166MMX
RAM: 32meg
OS VERSION: Windows 95
SERVICE PACK:

DESCRIPTION:

Hi,
When I boot up my laptop, it goes to the Windows 95 Startup Menu asking if I want to boot in Normal, Safe mode etc..At first I checked to see if I had a sticky F5 or F8 key that was causing the problem which I believe I have eliminated as the cause now. I then checked the msdos.sys file in the C:\ root directory. It is as follows:
[Options]
BootMenu=1
BootMenuDelay=0
BootGUI=1

I added the BootMenuDelay=0 so that I didn't have to wait the 30 seconds or hit enter to go into Win95.
So at the moment when I boot up, it goes to the Windows 95 Startup Menu for a split second before going on into Windows 95.
This in itself is not a major problem I believe, but is annoying. Your advice is eagerly awaited.

Many thanks,

Ian Horne
