Description:
Hello Chris..Thanks for your comments re.PnPBios.
Now to me next problem! Sometimes it is not possible to download pictures onto my Iomega Zip.ie I click Right, click, "Save As", but when i open the file later, a Window appears, "Unable to open this File" Why does that sometimes happen? I always believed that anything on the screen could be downloaded! And when i want to Copy and Paste a picture, say my daughters face from the Zip into a picture programme, the picture to be pasted appears up to ten times bigger, so that i am unable to do any kind of nifty messing around. This also occurs when i scan a picture and then attempt the same process. I am obviously overlooking something, but i don't know what. Any suggestions? Best Wishes..Philip

Hi Philip-
I'm not chris- to reach Chris directly, send mail to his/her email address- if you hit reply to author it your mailer should do this!
Can't help you much on the Zip drive-so many people have problems with them that I just never got one- I might suggest you download the file to your hard drive and then zip it if you need to and move it to the zip- that should work- but I'm no expert on that stuff- you might check the iomega site and see if they have any insight.
About the graphics files- it has to do with the resolution- frequently the relolution of the file (pixels per inch, pica per centmeter, cubits per litre, etc) is radically different than your program is set to- and a pixel doen't care what size it is! So if the scan is set at 720 dots/inch, and your program is at normal display (p6 pixels per inch, usually) well, the file is going to display rather large.....so you can either lower the resolution in your scan, or for other files & if you don't want to lower the scan res., you can resize the graphic- the option is in different pllaces in different programs, but in my experience its always been available in one of the menus on the menu bar, and you almost always have the option to keep the original pixel information so you don't loso any detail unless you want to.
Hope this helps!
Feel free to contact me for more help, clarification. questions, etc.!
