I am trying to use a Bluetooth mouse on my PowerBook G4 17". Now I can connect to the mouse but it is really jumpy. At times it even freezes. I have tried several Bluetooth mice and am having the same problem. Any idea's or suggestions in order to fix this problem.

Do you have any other wireless devices in the vicinity? Or a microwave? (Not suggesting you put the mouse in the microwave.)

Hi! Definitely need some more information to fully help you.

1. Your op system
2. Your mouse model number
3. have you repaired permissions?
4. do you have your mouse device's latest driver?

Let me know your answers to these questions and we'll see what we can do.

Sorry for the slow reply. I checked Kensington's website and they do not have support for Tiger, only Panther:

Kensington has MouseWorks software for you to install, but as I said in my last post it only goes up to Panther (10.3). Your mouse is probably working in spotty fashion because it's driver hasn't been updated for Tiger.

Hope this helps!

I looked up the mouse model that you gave me and this is the information I found. Sounds like you need to contact Kensington for more answers. I've found what I can…

Found some more info! Maybe this will help: http://www.macintouch.com/tiger06.html

I believe near the top of the page (or search for Bluetooth) you'll see there's a shared key for bluetooth devices and when you upgrade that key can be lost or changed or otherwise make it so your computer can't talk to your bluetooth device.

Follow the advice on the page and let me know if that works. (I'm not giving up till we solve this!)
