I'm trying to VPN using the Tiger network VPN to a company's NT server that is attached to an Exchange box.
I seem to get into the network but can't ever get Entourage to see the Exchange system.
I have poured over all the support docs I can find and can't figure this out.
Help?

Hi Marsha,
When you say you can get into the network, can you ping devices in the VPN network? For instance, can you actually ping the Exchange server?

Actually, yes I was. I was also running Euntorage 2004 and they are using Exchange server 5.5. I am trying to figure out if it has something to do with Netinfo Manager and setting up domains but I haven't had a chance to figure out what the hell that's all about yet.
thanks for asking

Hi Marsha,
I know it was a stupid question to ask, but I always have to ask. :-)
OK - there were some issues with VPN and other associated subsystems in 10.4 and these to my knowledge have not been resolved.
Do you see anything in the conenction log that would indicate an issue?

my gut says it's the remote isn't resolving the exchange domain.
Not knowing what it's lookin at? Or not authenticating?
I can get into their NT files and can ping the exchange ip Address but the program won't connect saying it find an exchange server.

Hi Shana,
When you say you can ping, is it a ping via the IP address or the FQDN of the machine?
It might be that you aren't getting the correct DNS response back to resolve the machine?

I missed a word in there, "CAN'T find the exchange server"
I have pinged the actual ip address of the machine that hosts the exchange server. I have set up ip with name, without name and in as many ways as I can think of with the client entourage 2004 program.
