    Hi,
i`ve tried everything but nothing works when i try to delete de postgres user .
    - first ... list de users and then viewed its profile

    dscl . read /Users/postgres
    AppleMetaNodeLocation: /Local/Default
    NFSHomeDirectory: /Library/PostgreSQL8
    PrimaryGroupID: 401
    RealName:
    PostgreSQL Server
    RecordName: postgres
    RecordType: dsRecTypeStandard:Users
    UniqueID: 401
    UserShell: /usr/bin/false

    - so i tried ..
    sudo dscl . -delete /Users/postgres

    - but the user is still there ..
    - then .. i installed a package to use sudo userdel .. but nothing worked

How about simply uninstalling PostgreSQL if you don't need that any more?

It happend after uninstalling postgres exactly for upgrade. I solved the problem. My user had no password (just used to press "Enter") ... after changing the password the sudo worked fine.
